About

Istanbul Technical University's National Innovation and Research Center for Geographical Information Technologies was founded in 2013 with the objective to establish a geospatial research and development center to develop and provide location based services (LBS). Its projects cover disciplines related to urban development and planning, evironmental sciences, public welfare and safety, and land use/land cover monitoring and analysis.

The center is fully equipped with all kind of proprietary and advanced Geographic Information Science software and is capable enough to process, manage, and deploy big geo-data services. It works in close collaboration with city municipalities and government agencies. Apart from being a research cell it also aims to provide advanced GIS trainings and courses to staffs and students of interest. It is always open to new collaboration with teams and institutions willing to work in the field of geospatial technologies.
